Coleen Nolan revealed a poignant confession regarding Linda just prior to her passing.

Coleen Nolan opened up on sister Linda's heartbreaking nights before her death at the age of 65.

The beloved TV personality and pop star died after a long journey with secondary breast cancer. The Daily Mirror Columnist passed away today with her famous sisters at her side and her final hours were said to have been full of "love and comfort."

In a statement released to the Mirror, agent Dermot McNamara, said: "It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Nolan, the celebrated Irish pop legend, television personality, Guinness World Record holding West End star, Sunday Times bestselling author and Daily Mirror columnist. She passed at around 10:20am at Blackpool Victoria Hospital on the MCEW Ward. The family said the hospital couldn't do enough, they were tireless."

The message went on: "She departed this world peacefully, surrounded by her devoted siblings, who provided her with love and solace in her last moments. Linda's impact reaches far beyond her remarkable contributions to music and entertainment. She served as a symbol of hope and strength, using her experiences to enlighten and motivate others. Rest in peace, Linda. Your absence will be profoundly felt, yet your memory will live on forever."

Coleen spoke candidly about Linda's care just a few months back.

Back in September, Loose Women's Coleen opened up on Linda's battle with cancer that spread to her liver and brain. In an exclusive chat with the Mirror, Coleen said: "Certainly in public [there's a smile on her face], obviously there's nights she goes to bed and I only found this out recently but there are nights she goes I think the night times because she's totally on her own.

"You know, in your bedroom and your brain, you just overthink and I think they're the times when she has her cry and and she's scared but the rest of the time she is an absolute warrior. I look at her in awe. She treats chemo like she's going to Tesco and it keeps coming back and battering her and she keeps on smiling and she still keeps getting out of bed and she bloody hates it.

"She hates it, she hates being bald. I think that for her that's the most dramatic thing. She's lost her hair, this is the fourth time and she's lost it again and then she gets embarrassed and she goes 'That's really of vain of me' and I'm like 'It's not'." Following today's tragic news, Coleen reposted her agent's statement with a heartbroken emoji.

The news of Linda's death will come as a shock to her loyal fans who had followed her as she shared the frank and honest realities of her journey with cancer in her weekly Mirror column. Just last week, Linda had told the Mirror she had been feeling brighter after being ill over Christmas with what she thought was a "bout of flu", although at one point she was too poorly for hugs and food.

Only two days later, she was admitted to the hospital due to difficulties in breathing. Medical professionals identified double pneumonia, and due to her secondary breast cancer that had metastasized to her brain, her health unfortunately worsened. Her sisters—Anne, 74, Denise, 72, Maureen, 69, and Coleen, 59—were summoned to her bedside at 3:30 AM on Tuesday, as the doctors opted to transition her to end-of-life care. They maintained a vigil beside her during her last moments.

Monica Schipper / Getty Images Wells Adams thinks his wife, Sarah Hyland, was disappointed by his early exit on The Traitors. “Yeah, she wasn’t super proud of me,” Adams, 40, told Entertainment Weekly in an interview published on Tuesday, January 14. “I mean, there’s vows that we said for better or worse, so she can’t divorce me over this. She was bummed, I think.” Adams, who wed the Modern Family alum in 2022, explained that he asked for Hyland’s thoughts after she watched the show one morning. “I asked her, ‘So, what’s your opinion?’ and she replied, ‘Honestly, you don’t look too terrible.’ I responded, ‘So it’s pretty bad, right?’” he recounted. “I believe she expected me to come out on top. I thought the same, but in the end, I didn’t. And now, this is where we find ourselves.” Adams was the first contestant to be banished during season 3 of The Traitors, which premiered on Thursday, January 9. After steering during the dragon boat mission, Adams was singled out by The Real Housewives of the Potomac’s Robyn Dixon for appearing “uncomfortable” after the traitors were chosen. Before leaving, Adams expressed that he had a close relationship with Dixon, stating, "That's why it stung so much. There are moments when you're not on camera, like when you're driving or just hanging out, and we would often chat about personal things. She was someone I spent a lot of time with. So, when she confronted me, it really affected me. I thought, ‘I know about your family, we've discussed your podcast. Rob “Boston Rob” Mariano joined the crew after they murdered The Real Housewives of New York City’s Dorinda Medley.) Adams shared, “Having participated in more than 150 episodes of reality television, my focus when the cameras are off is on conserving my energy. Back during my radio days, I only cracked jokes when the microphone was live and the show was in progress. So, what viewers noticed was that I would switch on my personality when the cameras were rolling, fully aware that we were producing a show. "Observing the Housewives, I couldn't help but notice their constant intensity. I thought to myself, ‘It must be so tiring to live like that,’” he remarked. “They’re always shouting and losing their cool. Seriously, take a breather, guys. Your blood pressure must be through the roof. When they commented, ‘I feel like you’re not being yourself,’ my response was simply, ‘I’m just not going to share the joke I find amusing off-camera.’” The Traitors season 3 airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on Peacock.

The first part of the 'Before the 90 Days' Tell-All has just validated my suspicions regarding Loren.

View pictures in App save up to 80% data. Picture courtesy of TLC The 90 Day Fiancé: Preceding the 90 Days Tell All Pt 1 is here, and I'm blown away by the dirt the host, Shaun Robinson, was able to discover almost instantly. When the season ended, I hoped Shaun would find more answers regarding Loren Allen and Faith Gatoc Tulod's storyline. I thought Loren’s persistence was odd and nothing he said seemed truthful. Their 90 Day Fiancé storyline also ended on a traumatic note with Loren making awkward threatening gestures that raised even more red flags. After all the drama, it seemed to me like Faith finally realized just how many red flags Loren had and ended their relationship. However, there were still so many loose ends, and I was still suspicious of Loren and his intentions by the end of the season. So I hoped fans would receive more clarity at the Tell All, and I wasn't disappointed. Loren from '90 Day Fiancé' Was Involved in a Pyramid Scheme View pictures in App save up to 80% data. Picture courtesy of TLC The biggest bombshell of the 90 Day Fiancé: Preceding the 90 Days Tell All Pt 1 was the discovery of Loren's involvement with a pyramid scheme. Apparently, Loren had purchased the ticket to the Philippines before he met Faith. Originally, he was talking to another women who claimed to be a “lady boy.” The woman convinced Loren to buy a ticket to the Philippines and send the rest of his savings. After learning the woman was scamming him, Loren didn't want the plane ticket to go to waste. As a result, he started connecting with Faith and used the flight ticket to meet her instead. My Greatest Concerns Regarding '90 Day Fiancé's Loren Star Came to Light To me, there was something off about Loren and his storyline. His confessionals were filled with stories and truths he never shared with Faith. His persistent attitude, combined with his awkward and threatening actions gave me the major ick. I never thought his feelings were genuine, and I always thought Loren had ulterior motives. He was far too much in a rush to get married and was even willing to marry Faith's mom so he could stay in the Philippines. He also seemed to care more about having an open relationship than about Faith's feelings, even though he showed up in the Philippines with an STD. Throughout their segments, I feared Loren was either running away from a bad situation in America or was using Faith to better himself in the Philippines and I think my conclusions were right. Loren didn't care about who he was dating or meeting. He simply wanted to be in the Philippines and was willing to do anything to achieve that goal. Season 7 took the franchise to a new extreme. With a whole new cast, countries never seen before, and unique storylines, this season stuck out compared to previous ones. As a result, there were a lot more loose ends that I, like many other fans, were hoping to get answers too. However, while I'm happy that we received more insight about their storyline, I feel even more empathy for Faith. I understand that she feels like she'll never truly be loved as a "ladyboy," but the sad truth is that she's not loved now and would be much better off running far away from the America reality star. 90 Day Fiancé and its spin-offs series air on TLC, and are available to stream on Max in the U.S. View pictures in App save up to 80% data. 90 Day Fiancé: Preceding the 90 Days Couples who have connected through the internet but haven't yet met face-to-face embark on a daring journey, crossing continents to determine if their virtual love can withstand the trials of reality. What Major TV Shows Are Concluding or Getting Canceled in 2025? An Updated Compilation

Bidding farewell is always a challenge, especially when it comes to a beloved TV series. View pictures in App save up to 80% data. (Image source: Netflix) As easy as it is to celebrate all of the big 2025 TV premieres that will be hitting the small screen over time, that doesn't quite reverse the more sour feelings inspired by the abundance of series bowing out this year, not to mention everything that audiences hoped would come back to no avail. Cancellations are the worst. So while marking your calendar with all the new Netflix shows on the way, as well as all the big 2025 movies hitting theaters, let's all join together in lamenting the decisions that led to all the shows listed below coming to an end. Series Scheduled for Conclusion in 2025 View pictures in App save up to 80% data. (Image source: Lucasfilm) Andor (available on Disney+) Number Of Seasons: 2 Reason For Ending: While the original plan for the upcoming Star Wars project was for a five-season run, the massive scope involved (and thus the enormous budget reported) meant that showrunner Tony Gilroy was limited to just two seasons to tell the entire prequelized story of Gabriel Luna's Cassian Andor. Final Episode: TBA to follow Season 2 premiere on April 22, 2025. Bel-Air (Peacock Streaming Service) Number Of Seasons: 4 Reason For Ending: It's unclear exactly why Peacock chose to make Season 4 the final one for its dramatized Fresh Prince reboot, but given the lower episode count (eight instead of ten) and three-month stretch between the Season 3 finale and the final season renewal, it's likely the lower viewership combined with rising budgets to force execs' hands. Final Episode: TBA in 2025 Big Mouth (available on Netflix) Number Of Seasons: 8 Reason For Ending: Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg's animated adult comedy will be Netflix's longest-running original non-kids series when Season 8 arrives, and there doesn't appear to be any straightforward reason for it to be ending, beyond the fact that its characters have been in middle school for seven years now. Final Episode: TBA in 2025 Billy The Kid (MGM Plus) Number Of Seasons: 3 Reason For Ending: Though Billy the Kid was touted as being one of MGM+'s three biggest shows for its second season, the burgeoning streaming service decided in October 2023 to make the impending third season the finale one. Historically speaking, Billy the Kid didn't exactly live to a ripe old age, so it makes sense for the show to be somewhat limited in season number. Final Episode: TBA in 2025 View pictures in App save up to 80% data. (Image source: Netflix) Blood of Zeus (Netflix) Number Of Seasons: 3 Reason For Ending: Netflix's epic-scale animated action-adventure Blood of Zeus has been a critical darling for its sharp animation and effective voice actors, but never quite became as much of a mainstream hit as some of the streamer's other American anime, and the creators announced at SDCC 2024 that the series was ordered for a third and final season to debut in 2025. Final Episode: TBA in 2025 Bosch: Legacy (Available on Prime Video) Number Of Seasons: 3 Reason For Ending: Titus Welliver's now-retired Harry Bosch is getting his swan song in the third season of Bosch: Legacy ahead of the Maggie Q-starring spinoff set to debut in the back half of 2025. The series' end coincided with the confirmation that Amazon Freevee was going away in light of Prime Video launching its ad-based tier, and while no hyper-specific reasons have surfaced for why the series is ending with Season 3, it's theorized that the show's questionable value for advertisers played into it. Final Episode: TBA in 2025 Cobra Kai (available on Netflix) Number Of Seasons: 6 Reason For Ending: The Karate Kid franchise follow-up Cobra Kai was revealed to be ending with Season 6 back in January 2023, when creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg released a Netflix-emblazoned letter to fans that addressed their goal to end Johnny, Daniel, and other characters' stories on their own terms, possibly implying the streaming service did not show interest in continuing with a seventh season. Final Episode: The final 8 episodes comprising Season 6 Part 3 will drop on Thursday, February 13. The Conners (ABC Network) Number Of Seasons: 7 Reason For Ending: The Conners wasn't originally intended to go beyond a single season clearing up Roseanne issues, yet John Goodman & Co. are returning for their eighth year, which will officially be its final one due to a combination of salaries, schedules and dwindling viewership, with only six episodes ordered up to close out this beloved sitcom universe. Final Episode: TBA in Spring 2025 The Handmaid's Tale (available on Hulu) Number Of Seasons: 6 Reason For Ending: Hulu ordered up the sixth and final season of The Handmaid's Tale ahead of Season 5's heavy cliffhanger ending, with creator Bruce Miller saying he was given the opportunity to close out June's story on his own terms. That announcement, which coincided with development confirmation on adapting Margaret Atwood's sequel tale The Testaments, happened back in September 2022, with strikes and other factors delaying the production's start until Summer 2024. Final Episode: TBA in Spring 2025 View pictures in App save up to 80% data. (Image source: Kevin Estrada/FOX) 9-1-1: Lone Star (Fox Network) Number Of Seasons: 5 Reason For Ending: With flagship drama 9-1-1 having previously shifted from Fox to ABC, Rob Lowe's 9-1-1: Lone Star spinoff was immediately theorized as a future goner, and such rumors persisted ahead of its strike-delayed premiere, right up until the point in September 2024 when it was confirmed ahead of the Season 5 premiere that it would serve as the final season. Drooping ratings from year to year likely meshed with budget issues to inspire this particular cancellation. Final Episode: February 3, 2025 Squid Game (available on Netflix) Number Of Seasons: 3 Reason For Ending: Months ahead of the premiere of its globe-conquering second season, Squid Game Season 3 was ordered up in July 2024, with series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk confirming in the announcement that it would be the final outing. Though he didn't even originally plan for Season 2 to happen, Hwang has spoken since about seeing a third season as the natural conclusion for the characters and games. Final Episode: TBA late 2025 Stranger Things (available on Netflix) Number Of Seasons: 5 Reason For Ending: Since their earliest days working on the project, Matt and Ross Duffer envisioned that Stranger Things Season 5 would likely be the time to conclude things, assuming (correctly) that four wouldn't be enough. The duo confirmed that to be reality in June 2022, well before the Hollywood strikes pushed back filming and premiere plans. Final Episode: TBA in 2025 Upload (Available on Prime Video) Number Of Seasons: 4 Reason For Ending: The tech-afterlife comedy Upload was initially conceived for a four-season arc, according to creator Greg Daniels, and while that number wasn't always guaranteed, the quirky satire has proven successful enough for Amazon execs to take the characters to their natural conclusions with a final season. Final Episode: TBA in 2025 You (Netflix Series) Number Of Seasons: 5 Reason For Ending: Ahead of the 2023 strikes, Netflix put the word out that Penn Badgley's killer thriller You was getting a fifth and final season. Though no reasoning was given, it's possible that part of the decision stemmed from co-creator and showrunner Sara Gamble exiting the series (amicably) and being replaced by a pair of EPs taking her spot to tell Joe Goldberg's swan song. Final Episode: TBA in 2025 Shows That Were Completely Axed for 2025 View pictures in App save up to 80% data. (Image source: HBO) The Franchise (HBO) Number Of Seasons: 1 Reason For Ending: Five or so weeks after wrapping its highly chaotic chronicling of superhero blockbuster Tecto: Eye of the Storm, the abundantly satirical comedy The Franchise faced its somewhat ironic cancellation after a single, non-franchising season, albeit a well-received one. While the HBO spokesperson who confirmed the cancellation to Deadline in early January didn't explain the reasoning, the show's seemingly limited viewership likely didn't justify its budget. Final Episode: Aired on November 24, 2024 Harlem (Available on Prime Video) Number Of Seasons: 3 Reason For Ending: Fans only learned the Meagan Good-starring comedy Harlem would be ending when Prime Video released the first trailer for Season 3 on January 8, 2025, more than a year after the third batch of episodes was ordered with no hint that they would conclude the series. But neither that reveal, nor the follow-up from creator Tracy Oliver, addressed a reason for the surprise decision. Final Episode: The final two Season 3 episodes will stream on Thursday, February 6, 2025. Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur (available on Disney+) Number Of Seasons: 2 Reason For Cancellation: In October 2024, several of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur's excellent cast members confirmed Disney+ canceled the animated Marvel Comics adaptation following executive producer Steve Loter's cryptic online hints. No specific reasons have been confirmed, but there's a silver lining in that fans will still get to see more episodes, as the animation team was still working on nine episodes when the cancellation news dropped. Final Episode: TBA in 2025

Still, moms know that the show must go on, so Chrissy Teigen pulled together to bake a cake for her daughter Esti’s second birthday. She shared the unusual cake she made for her daughter in a vulnerable new post. She shared a video on Instagram of her gifting Esti two John Cena toys, and her reaction was so precious. “Wait, Esti, do you love it?” Teigen asks her daughter. “Um, I’d like to unwrap it,” Esti says, passing the gift to her mother. “What’s that?” Teigen asks, and Esti responds in an adorable toddler voice, “It’s John Cena!” In the other clips featured in the carousel, Esti is seen having fun with two John Cena action figures in the living room. She uses one of the dolls to give her dog a scratch, adorns the doll's arm with her mom's ring, and playfully taps John Cena's head against her Leap Frog laptop to assist her in typing. It’s a relief to see Teigen and her family are back home after evacuating their home with their four dogs and bearded dragon amid the L.A. fires. Last week, she shared a mirror selfie in her closet, where she stood next to a suitcase. “This is surreal,” she wrote. “I’m very scared now. Packing.” At that moment, she shared on her Instagram story, “I’ve been at a loss for words; it’s a nightmare,” Teigen expressed regarding the wildfires. “For now, we are safe, but it feels strange to say that when so many people, both familiar and unfamiliar, are suffering. I appreciate everyone who has checked in.” "She urged everyone to share any resources or assistance they can offer to our community at this time. 'Please send us anything you come across,' she said. 'And let's give our thanks to the firefighters and all the first responders.'" View pictures in App save up to 80% data.

Could Kevin Costner make a comeback in 'Yellowstone'? Many fans believe that John Dutton is still alive.

Costner's recent public statement confirming that he has not recorded any extra episodes puts these theories to rest; however, some fans speculate that this could be a deliberate attempt to mislead. (Cover Image Credit: YouTube | Photo by @Yellowstone) ‘Yellowstone’ fans are no strangers to shocking plot twists, but the death of John Dutton, played by Kevin Costner, in the opening episode of Season 5 Part 2 has left viewers reeling. While the show’s narrative suggests the Dutton patriarch met his end in a calculated assassination, a vocal faction of fans remains unconvinced. They’re clinging to the hope that John’s death is a carefully orchestrated ruse, setting the stage for a jaw-dropping return. John’s body was discovered in his bathroom; the scene was staged to look like a suicide. Later, it was revealed that John was a victim of an assassination plot by his son Jamie and his partner Sarah. As per Town and County magazine, the fallout from this revelation plunged the Dutton family into chaos, with Beth immediately blaming Jamie, Kayce harboring suspicions, and Jamie concocting a plan to sell parts of the ranch. Yet, amid this turmoil, fans have begun piecing together a theory— what if Dutton isn’t dead at all.” Will Kevin Costner return to #Yellowstone? He tells @HowardStern his current status with the hit show. pic.twitter.com/vxKD0vKrrH — Stern Show (@sternshow) June 20, 2024 On Reddit, a person argued, “Here's my theory for how John Dutton's death was faked. Someone, maybe even Jamie (this would make for a beautiful redemption arc between him and John), tipped him off that there was a credible threat on his life. So what they did was faked it, for various reasons...To do this, they'd have to get the entire Governor's security detail in on it, as well as the people who actually see John Dutton's body. This includes the examiners, police, investigators, and Kayce and Beth (a bit of a stretch, no?). This would explain the lack of security since they'd be in on the faking of it, as well as Kayce and Beth being distraught while in the mansion. They were acting.” If you didn’t expect them to kill off John Dutton then you really arnt a true Yellowstone fan. I called thats this is how the season started since he announced his departure. #YellowstoneTV pic.twitter.com/Nfa8ZRxero — REZY (@ELREZY_) November 11, 2024 Meanwhile, before the series finale, another fan penned, “What if... this could be the greatest hoax in recent Hollywood and Kevin shows up albeit briefly, in the finale? John Dutton’s not dead!” Costner’s public confirmation that he hasn’t filmed additional episodes seems to debunk these theories, but some fans think this might be intentional misdirection. ‘Yellowstone’s history of surprises and the creator’s penchant for ruining expectations add fuel to the speculation. However, insiders were pushed back on these ideas. ‘Yellowstone’ director, Christine Voros, shared, “People don’t want it to be true. There were a lot of people who were outraged that John was killed— and you’re supposed to be outraged he was killed. The characters are outraged that he’s killed. So, in a strange way, it is the point. You are not supposed to be okay with it,” as reported by Esquire. Even thought we know KEVIN COSTNER wasn’t supposed to come back for the rest of #Yellowstone. The way to end his character was just dumbfounded and lazy. Could’ve been a better way or he just could’ve rode off into the sunset. #YellowstoneTV pic.twitter.com/5JhPPCoscl — 🎬🎞️🎥🍿Anthony (@mrfilmstock) November 11, 2024 Although the likelihood of a faked death is low, the fans' optimism showcases their strong bond with the character. One Reddit user suggested, “Perhaps the portrayal of a suicide was John Dutton's subtle message to those who truly knew him, indicating that he was still alive.” This idea arises from the belief that someone like John would never take his own life.

The star of All In The Family reveals that she had a conflict with Norman Lear.

Sally Struthers, known for her role in All In The Family, revealed that she had a contentious relationship with the show's creator, Norman Lear, stating that she "wasn't particularly fond of him." Lear died in 2023 at the age of 101, after decades being hailed as a TV legend who deftly wove political issues into situation comedy.  All In The Family featured Carroll O'Connor in the role of the cantankerous family head, Archie Bunker. His conservative views served as a vehicle for the show's writers to humorously critique right-wing ideologies. At 77 years old, Struthers portrayed Gloria, the daughter of Archie, who often found herself at odds with her father's conservative views, aligning more with her liberal spouse Michael, a role brought to life by Rob Reiner. Struthers has claimed that her relationship with Lear was fraught with difficulties behind the scenes, and she even invested $40,000 in an unsuccessful legal attempt to exit his show following the fifth season. She also claimed Lear once told her he only cast her because of she had 'blue eyes and a fat face,' on the podcast Let's Talk About That!. View pictures in App save up to 80% data. Sally Struthers, known for her role in All In The Family, revealed on the podcast Let's Talk About That! that she had a contentious relationship with the show's creator, Norman Lear, admitting that she "wasn't particularly fond of him." In a recent interview with Struthers, Lear was referred to as the mastermind behind All In The Family, to which she promptly disagreed with that description. According to Struthers' version of events, Carroll O'Connor first came up with the idea of creating an American adaptation of the British sitcom Till Death Us Do Part, on which All In The Family was based. She mentioned that O'Connor and a 'close writer associate of his' worked together on 'scripts' for an American adaptation of Till Death Do Us Part. However, they lacked the producer influence and funds to bring it to fruition. After pitching it for some time, it eventually landed in Norman's possession, and for the next 52 years, Norman acted as if he was the original creator. All In The Family had a successful eight-season run on CBS from 1971 to 1979. However, Struthers has stated that throughout this time, she was left out of cast dinners that took place at the residence of Lear and his then-wife, feminist activist Frances Loeb.  Struthers mentioned that throughout the duration of the show, Lear and Loeb would host dinner gatherings, inviting Carroll O'Connor and his wife Nancy, as well as Jean Stapleton, who portrayed Edith Bunker, along with her husband Bill. Rob Reiner, known for his role as Struthers' husband on television, was reportedly invited to the dinners alongside his then-wife, Penny Marshall. Struthers claimed that Reiner received an invitation 'as Rob was the son of Carl Reiner, a close friend of Norman Lear.' In the meantime, she claimed, "I wasn't invited to his house for eight years," and as the podcast hosts showed their understanding, she continued, "It didn't feel pleasant." Reiner and Struthers are featured in an episode of All In The Family that was broadcast in 1979, the same year she received her second Emmy Award for her performance in the show.  As season one progressed toward its conclusion, All In The Family had established itself as a ratings success. Struthers eagerly approached Lear during a break to discuss the show's achievements with him. She remarked that he had auditioned an abundance of young women for the role of Gloria, and that the final selection had featured Penny Marshall among the last four candidates. Struthers admitted that she 'didn't put any effort' into her final audition, believing that Marshall was a guaranteed choice for the role since her actual husband, Reiner, had already been selected to play Gloria's on-screen husband. Once she confessed, she inquired of Lear if she had genuinely been 'the funniest one' during the actresses' improvisation auditions. Struthers remembered him saying, "No," and then she responded, "Alright, that's surprising. So, what led to me being here? Why am I in this situation at this moment?" Struthers mentioned that Lear responded by stating that he and the writers believed the show would have a longer run if Struthers' character, Gloria, was portrayed as a 'daddy's girl.' Lear and his fellow writers reportedly believed that Archie Bunker would be difficult for American viewers to accept due to his bigotry and offensive remarks. To make him more relatable, they decided to portray him as having a tender side, particularly in his affection for his daughter. She later asserted that Lear remarked to her: 'We brought you on board because, similar to Carroll O'Connor, you possess blue eyes and a round face.' View pictures in App save up to 80% data. Struthers sensed that she had been assigned the role of a 'fourth banana' on the program, as the writers appeared uncertain about how to effectively incorporate her character; she is seen in the show alongside Reiner (left) and O'Connor (right). Struthers sensed that she had been pushed into the role of a 'fourth banana' on the show, with the writers uncertain about how to effectively incorporate her character. She shared her feelings about the 'frustration during the initial five seasons,' noting that 'the talented older Jewish writers, who were skilled at crafting material for legends like Milton Berle, Carl Reiner, and Carroll O'Connor, seemed at a loss when it came to writing for a young woman.' Struthers noted that she ended up with "roughly three lines each episode that included: 'I'll help you set the table, Mom!' 'Michael, where are you headed?' and: 'Oh, Daddy, cut it out!' The following week, I would find myself with the same three lines, just rearranged." She claimed that after five years of frustration, she "retained a lawyer and attempted to exit the show," ultimately taking the dispute to arbitration and incurring $40,000 in legal expenses in her failed attempt to "terminate my contract." Struthers expressed, "I experienced a loss and returned to have three additional seasons, which turned out to be the most enjoyable for me," noting that the writers provided "plenty of opportunities for me on the show." In the end, Struthers received two Emmy awards for her work on the show: the first in 1972, when the series was still in its early stages, and the second in 1979, following her efforts to terminate her contract.  She received her own spin-off series titled Gloria, which aired on CBS for a single season, exploring her character's journey after her husband departs for a younger partner. Recently, she played a recurring character on Gilmore Girls and made guest appearances on popular series from Murder, She Wrote to American Dad. Since last year, she has been playing a recurring role in the sitcom A Man On The Inside, which features Ted Danson as a retired professor turned private detective.
